Serving as a library of knowledge, Movers & Shapers promises intriguing dialogue, circulating the research and creative endeavors surrounding impactful minds of the dance field. Discussions span from early encounters with dance to future hopes and plans, thereby revealing artist’s lesser-known stories along the way to finding personal success. The types of artists one can expect to hear from include choreographers, performers, scholars, educators, artistic collaborators,and other administrative figures and leaders from the field. Past interviews have included such “shapers” as choreographers and dancers as Sidra Bell, Xan Burley, Joanna Kotze, and Alexandra Beller; media artists Tomer Heyman,Rachel Neville, and Nel Shelby; dance writers Wendy Perron, Theresa Ruth Howard, and Eva Yaa Asantewaa; and educators Jeff Friedman, Diane Jacobowitz, and Paula Kellinger.

Movers & Shapers has received support from the New Jersey Council for theHumanities and The Ohio State University Dance Preservation Fund with partnerships with Gibney Dance, Pentacle Danceworks, Your Move Dance Festival, Women in Dance Leadership Conference, and JAMpress Management.
